The Lovers//Photos by Hayes Burton
The series of photos is centered around the artist and their past muse. It is shown in four parts with varying themes: 'l'amour à deux' (the love of two) displaying the tenderness and physical closeness of two lovers. 'Folie à deux' (the madness of two) which comments on the humor on the relationship combined with the idea of creating an entire world surrounding that person in which there is no sense to be made of it all except the strong feelings around the two. 'Les corps de deux' (the bodies of two) focuses on the idea of the individuals as a part of the relationship instead of seen as a collective unit or a pair. Finally, 'Le fantôme de deux' (the ghost of two) where both lovers have dissipated/ separated from one another and all that remains is the ghost of what once was.
